Too Much Touring to Blog It All!

Well...today was another super busy, but amazing day!

We started out taking the subway to the central station where we waited for Ola's friend, Fredrik to join us. Then we did a little bit of shopping and headed off to be tourists for the day! First we ate lunch at a beautiful little spot. Next, we hopped on a boat for an Under the Bridge tour of Stockholm. Gorgeous and fun to hear about the city!
After the boat tour, we went to Junibacken...home of Pippi Longstocking and other Swedish fairy tales! It was actually a really neat visit! My neices would have LOVED all of the fun fairy tale land there was to check out. After you check everything out, you sit in a little house. It is set up almost like a roller coaster but takes you through all of the fairy tales. Very neat! Below is one of the fairy tale houses you can go inside...very cute!
After Junibacken, we headed over to a pretty little place called Josefinas for a yummy drink break! The picture is below. Can you say....GORGEOUS views EVERYWHERE?!?!

Next on our busy day, we headed to the photography museum. They had a really neat collection of ePic Olympic moments. The next collection was pretty creepy...photographs of dead people. Like, dead dead people?!?! EW! But, overall it was a neat museum to stop by.

Then...we still weren't done! We took the subway over the the Sky Globe. This thing was pretty awesome! You get in a giant globe and it goes all the way up the side of a building so you can see a view of all over Stockholm. Loved it! Too bad it was rainy, but it was still a fantastic view!

Whew! Finally it was 9pm and dinner time was at a "burger" joint in the subway. Ehh...I don't believe we were eating beef, but Ola insists. Kinda looked like....anything except beef??

Another long day has come and gone. Having a great time, of course. Looking forward to heading to the Zoo tomorrow!!

Love & miss you all...!

Swedish Texas Steakhouse & Old Town Sweden!

Today was a busy day! We actually got up and out the door before noon :)

First, we went to Old Town Sweden where Ola got to be a tourist like me! The buildings were BEAUTIFUL! I got a quick video for my nieces of the parade infront of a royal building. So fun to see!
We did some shopping in Old Town Sweden and in NK. Claire-I have gifts coming home to you (and your sisters) and Myles!! Can't wait for you to see them!

After a day of beautiful sights, we took a boat to met Ola's gorgeous sister, Linda. I'm pretty sure everyone from Sweden is a supermodel. So pretty! We also met his nephew, Milo.

Then, we went to have a "Texas" steak dinner with Ola's friend, Patrick. It was pretty fun to see a Texan dinner in Sweden. Dinner was delicious, though Ola ordered lamb at a steakhouse ;) Dinner was good and I got a yummy Swedish beer in a Texas glass. Make that, three Swedish beers...it was raining and...what else is there to do but order another?

The night ended with....MORE rain. So, we enjoyed playing in the rain to our way onto the train. Or, me making Patrick dance in the rain while our horrible photographer Ola complained!
It was another great day in Sweden. One more week to go and I am off to Bahrain!

Soccer Game in Sweden? Yes please!

Yesterday was quite an adventure! I went to my first FUTBOL game....apparently I'm not allowed to call it soccer and American football is dumb to be called football when you don't use your feet and yadda yadda yadda :) The game was super fun! My favorite was listening to all of the singing and chanting of the fans. They sing the whole game. Super glad Ola took me with him and let me crash his guy time with his friends! I'll try to attach a video, but not sure if it's the best one I got. We will see how this one turns out:

The weather for the game was in the low 70's and sunny so it was great. We enjoyed some beers during the game..."American beers" because they are watered down at the soccer, excuse me futbol, games. The guys were cracking me up with this stuff!
Hammarby won the game! Which was good because I didn't want Ola to be in a bad mood afterwards :) So then we went out for some celebration drinks...and...what a night!! Ola's friends are great fun and everybody is so nice!! Fantastic night. I must say, I love it here in Sweden!
Yesterday was quite full of adventure. I think today I will stay away from the Swedish beer!

Having a blast!
